Renovate - Patty W.

I recently renovated my house with a resulting year long disruption of my normal vegetable gardening. When I resumed gardening ayear later, I discovered that my renovation had blocked the sunlight from my vegetable garden. I had to switch to container gardening for my vegetables and change my vegetable garden to shade loving annuals and perennials.

About National Garden Month

Why Garden?

"April is a National Gardening Month for a reason. It is when we gardeners begin preparing for harvests of real, fresh, healthy food. Not yet a vegetable gardener? You do not need to be a land baron to get started. Many types of vegetables can be successfully grown in containers allowing even the most space-challenged folks the opportunity to raise their own food. Whether you dream of self-sufficiency, saving some money on your food budget, or taking control over the quality of what you eat, April is your opportunity to start."
