The 3rd annual NYC GROWS Garden Festival, presented by Target, was held in Union Square Park on Sunday, April 27, 2008. Nearly 50,000 people wandered through a sea of more than 55 tents, where they sampled food and beverages, engaged in gardening discussions, planted seedlings, and took part in container gardening presentations, to name just a few. (See below for photos, and a full list of participants and activities.)
New this year, the Kid's Area was a huge success! Children and their families were entertained by puppeteers, storytellers, singers, and a magician. They decorated their own birdhouses, made seed jewelry, met preschool celebrity Wubbzy, and enjoyed a lemonade stand and activity court complete with croquet and hopscotch. more >>
